Dear Parents and Students,
My name is Donald Mitchell and it is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as the newly appointed principal of Legacy Traditional School Laveen. I am honored to be given the opportunity to serve a great community of students, parents and staff. I look forward to all of the new opportunities and experiences that this school year will bring. Most of all, I am looking forward to working with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success.
I come to LTS Laveen with 11 years of teaching grades 4th, 5th and 6th, Staff Development, and Adult Education. In addition, I have four years of administrative experience serving as an Assistant Principal, Title I Director and Coordinator of English Language Learner Programs.
I am proud to mention that I am a native of Phoenix. I grew up and attended elementary school and high school in South Phoenix. I received both my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Administration and Supervision degrees from Arizona State University. It is an honor to return to the community in which I began my educational endeavors.
As principal of LTS Laveen, I will work with students, parents and staff to ensure that we adhere to the mission that Legacy Traditional School has established for each campus. LTS Laveen will, “…provide motivated students with the opportunity to achieve academic excellence in an accelerated, back-to-basics, safe learning environment taught by caring and knowledgeable educators in cooperation with supportive, involved parents.”
