Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!

Dear Athlos Parents and Students,

Welcome to Athlos Traditional Academy! We are excited about this coming year and hope you and your students are as well. There are so many new and electrifying things happening this year that we wanted to take a moment and introduce ourselves.

Dana Croatt is the Principal of Athlos. She has been a principal at Legacy Traditional School-Maricopa for the past 3 years and is thrilled to open the first Athlos Traditional Academy. Prior to working with Legacy, she taught for eight years as a special education teacher, inclusion facilitator, and team teacher. Dr. Croatt was born and raised in Wisconsin, has experienced teaching in Arizona, Connecticut and California. She established roots here in Chandler with her husband Drew and her children Cali and Cannon. Aside from her passion for education, Dana has a love of hiking, reading and traveling.

Matt FritzMiller is the Assistant Principal of Athlos. This is his first year with Legacy Traditional Schools. Mr. FritzMiller has been involved in education for the past 8 years as a teacher, athletic director, curriculum writer, and coach. He has also been involved in every aspect of theatre, from directing to set building. Mr. FritzMiller lives in Gilbert with his wife Glynka and his daughters Elsa and Annika. Aside from working in education, Mr. FritzMiller is an avid Chicago Bears fan, enjoys wood working and remodeling projects, reading, and cooking.

Combined, we have 20 years of education experience from kindergarten to high school. We are both lifelong learners and believe in continuing education, both formally and informally. We strive to instill a love of learning in each of our students, and look forward to getting to know you and your students throughout the coming school year.
